Troy Stephenson has worked at the Irvin steel plant outside Pittsburgh for 27 years. His brother also works there, as do six uncles and a nephew. He is treasurer of the local chapter of the United Steelworkers (USW) and his cousin, Jason Zugai, is vice-president. “When I voted for Trump in 2016, I was still a Democrat,” Stephenson laughed, wryly. “But that’s just not the case anymore.”
